It does not decrease cravings for alcohol at all. Perhaps it simply works differently in me but do not rely on gabapentin alone for alcohol recovery. I love the medication for anxiety but I have still made most of my alcoholic mistakes while taking it and drinking because it did not affect my cravings whatsoever.
