Gabapentin Capsules or Tablets Gabapentin is a medication that treats nerve pain by calming overactive nerves in your body. It may also prevent and control seizures in people with epilepsy. You can take this medication by mouth with a glass of water. Talk to your provider about medications you currently take to avoid drug interaction. Gabapentin is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant. It is used to treat some types of seizures and nerve pain caused by shingles. What this medicine is used for The name of your medicine is Gabapentin APOTEX capsules. It contains the active ingredient, gabapentin. A randomized, two-treatment, two-sequence, two period, crossover, single dose (1 x 600 mg), oral comparative bioavailability study of APO-GABAPENTIN 600 mg tablets (APOTEX Inc.) and NEURONTIN® 600 mg tablets (Pfizer Canada Inc.) was conducted in 7 male and 13 female healthy, adult subjects (19 to 55 years of age) under fed conditions. Gabapentin is used with other medications to prevent and control seizures. It is also used to relieve nerve pain following shingles (a painful rash due to herpes zoster infection) in adults.
