People should definitely be informed about side effects/withdrawal effects before starting something like gabapentin but for any medication that's used for fibromyalgia you can find people who had a bad experience with it. 10 votes, 59 comments. I took a very low dose of Gabapentin, and it caused severe brain fog and floppiness, and it didn't help my fibromyalgia at all. I took Lyrica and it didn't help much either, but it also didn't cause any side effects. So right now I'm off both. As a person with a long history of mental illness predating my Fibromyalgia however, I would like to offer a perspective on medication from somebody who has tried dozens of medications over ~10 years (before being finally properly diagnosed with bp2) - in my experience, it's not worth getting too worried about medications. The 100 mg you’re on is going to do close to nothing for nerve pain. Ask your doctor for 300 at bed time, if it works then you really want to be taking that effective dose every 8 hours or so.
