Neuropathy, severe nerve damage, acute chronic pain - Drugs aren't working. This has been going on for months now. My biggest issue is the pain, it's intense. Lightning shots of pins and needles in my feet, sometimes my legs. I'm on Gabapentin 600mg, 4 times a day, and Tramadol, 50mg, 4 times a day. It's not even touching the pain most days. Hi all, not trying to violate sub rules so I don't want to ask for medical advice or anything. I've already been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in my feet after multiple spinal breaks. What are your experiences with gabapentin? It's been over a year now and initially I did not have good experiences with it, but I feel like I'm seeing more positive comments lately. Toes and feet are numb Yeah, I've been on gabapentin for several months for neuropathy. Unfortunately my neuropathy just kept getting worse with time so my dosage is pretty high at this point. Side effects were drowsiness, some irritability, and feeling generally more emotional. Side effects disappeared after some time, though I get slightly drowsy when the dosage has increased. I added cymbalta to help with both Gabapentin was a bit screwy for me, but I found a bit at bedtime helped huge with insomnia, and over time that protocol did reduce my neuropathy. I was taking about 1/4 as much as I was prescribed. The full prescription put me on the floor. So my doctor prescribed me this because I’ve been complaining about the neuropathy: Doc doesn’t seem to care about being familiar with FQ toxicity so it’s just in general. Anybody else used this drug? Is this understood more as a pain killer type thing, or could this actually help improve the nervous system (eg does it make me feel better or is it actually doing something)? Thanks! Sure you need to taper when stopping but that's true of many medications.
