I have been off Klonopin almost a year. I saw a doctor that specializes in this protracted withdrawal. I asked if this would eventually go away, my symptoms, and she said it’s been a year so it is optimistic to think it will go away anytime soon and how long do I want to live with the symptoms 5, I tried to titrate down by taking 100mg gabapentin HS but would wake the next morning with leg muscles twitching and full withdrawal anxiety and inability to focus. I took another 100 mg AM which alleviated the withdrawal symptoms about 2 hrs later and lasted most of the day. Explain to me how 0 pain relief + this kind of withdrawal is better than actual pain meds. I know Gabapentin works for some people, so I’m glad if you get relief from it. But ughhhhhhb, I’m just so sick of fear mongering about pain meds when an innocuous first line “pain treatment” made life a living hellscape for two weeks. The withdrawal syndrome is heavily underreported in medical literature and because the average user will never experience it, many doctors believe that Gabapentin withdrawal simply doesn't exist.
